Haldi: The Turmeric

Haldi or the turmeric (botanical name: Curcuma longa) is an Indian spice that is widely used in cooking for its flavor. The most active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin and it is perhaps the most studied phytochemical. It has multiple beneficial effects on human health and can prevent or cure a number of diseases. Scientists have shown that curcumin is a great detoxifying agent and has the ability to reduce the inflammation.
